Welcome to the official web site of the men of virtue. We are a clan that plays the online game Raid Shadow Legends together. I am Hobo Jak's your humble clan leader. I am a F2P (free to play) type player. And yes since you ask, back in my younger days I used to ride freight trains around the country.
I am currently work on a number of siege strategies in a new section I am adding to this page. I also added a table of contents in the subsection below
Siege video 1 An official video about siege put out by Raid
Siege video 2 The second half of the official video.
Aftermath of most recent siege battle. Some of my thinking after our most recent siege battle.
My discord link is "jaks1753".
Hit me up on discord!
I am not special. I have a few special jobs in the clan but other than that I am no different from other clan members. There are other players in the clan who know more about the game and are more powerful than I am.
It is not really my place to order other clan members around or tell them how to play. Clan members are not slaves. I don't own our clan members.
The clan isn't my clan, it's our clan. It belongs to all of us.
I would like it better if we all talked together on clan chat and discord then we could make consensus decisions that we all agree on when we work together.
Along with the deputies it is my duty is to remove dead weight. Dead weight means people who have quit playing. These people need to be deleted from the clan.
When our clan has an opening, lieutenants deputies and I can invite new members to the clan. This does not happen very often.
As your clan leader, one of my main responsibility is to appoint deputies. There is a whole section on this page about deputies that you can get to by clicking the button below.
I get to type out a clan message and description.
I am currently using the clan message as a motivational tool to incourage our clan members.
From the bastion if you click on "clan" and click the top section labeled "info", you will see our current clan message and description.
It would be a good idea to have a look at the mesaage every day when you first log in because I change it very frequently.
Along with the deputies I have the authority so spend siege mana, Currently since our stronghold along with all our magic towers and defense towers have beeb destroyed we can't use mana orbs to add bonuses to them.
Deputies get special privileges in the clan. Most importantly they can remove other members of the clan. They also get to spend mana in siege.
People have a basic human need to feel to loved and accepted. In our clan this is a special responsibility of our deputies. Please show up in the clan chat often and give our members incouragement.
I suggest that you deputies use this power wisely. From the bastion you can click on clan. From there you can click on members. There you can see how long it has been since a member has played. After not playing for three days a member listing turns red.
We don't want dead weight in our clan. One other thing to consider is how many clan experience points a member has contributed. If a member has not even played in three days and have contributed 0 clan XP feel free to remove them.
Other than that let your conscience be your guide. As clan leader of the men of virtue, I suggest you do what you believe to be right.
I am going to take a break from removing inactive members, and leave that to my deputies.
One request, please don't delete active players because they are not high ranking, or for some other reason not good enough. As I have said before, a basic human need is to feel love and acceptance. As long as our members want to play with us they should be loved and accepted even if they are not that far along in the game.
The most important thing in clan vs clan are the clan rewards. These are milestones that the whole clan works together to get. Just score over 1,000 points in our clan and you start to get the clan rewards.
These give us extra energy and lots of other good stuff. Actually winning the clan vs clan battle only gives you a couple of cool rings and glory. Both are good, but the most important thing is win or loose to score enough to get all the mile stone rewards. Thus clan has been doing this consistently
All of our best clan members save up for clan vs. clan. For example every day we get a free gift basket from raid and often these include an energy refill. I save these up for clan vs clan.
I also normally save up all my sole stones to use in CvC.
I like to save up my shards and cash most of them in during CvC.

A great way to learn about siege is to read the official documentation.
People are asking if we have a coherent strategy for siege.
I hope that we can developer a sort of "hive mind" as we learn to work together. This is explained in the next section. Also helpful would be to read my section about how I view my role as a clan leader.
I hope that members of our clan can see something that needs to be done and just do it without being told. I hope that when clan members are out of resources they suggest to our fellow members in chat things that need to be done. Together in this way we can form a sort of collective hive mind.
Right now we are in the prep phase which lasts for 12 days. One fun thing you can do during this phase is to use your Def Scrolls to add to the garrison of our various different buildings.
Just because our stronghold is "destroyed" does not mean we can't defend it.
Each of us gets two Def Scrolls. You can click on a building and add your team to the garrison as long as you have any Def Scrolls left. Exact directions on how to do this is in the subsection at the bottom of this section titled "BASICS:How to add a team.'
I would like to see all or most of us take up positions within the fortress. Like I said last time we only had 42 out of 60 playing.
If you move your team out of a position you get your Def Scroll refunded so we can move around the clan fortress for 12 days before it gets locked in at the time of battle.
This means we can look at different setups and talk to each other in order to improve them.
If you click on Siege you will see the map of our clan fortress. In the upper left hand corner of the map is a little "i" you can click on that and it will bring up the information page for this new siege clan activity. You can also get to the same page by clicking a button at in the first subsection of this article about siege.
Also in the upper left hand corner of the clan fortress map there are two important numbers in magenta. For example the last time I checked in the last siege it was at 42/60. The 42 is the number of teams we had deployed around the fortress. The 60 is the number teams possible. In other words this means at last count before the battle started we only had 42 out of a possible 60 teams.
Since each player also gets a reserve team this put us at 60 teams when the battle started.
Every structure in our Clan fortress except the mana shrines has been destroyed. I think this is because in our first battle they matched us based on our performance in our last four Clan v Clan battles.
We do well in those so we got way overrated. This means in our first battle we had to play a much more powerful team.
It costs a lot of "Florens" to repair a structure. This leaves us with a lot of work to do, and I would like to know how you think we should proceed. Maybe tell me what you think in the chat.
The object of the battle phase is to destroy the enemy stronghold. Currently our stronghold and every one of the defense towers and magic towers have been destroyed. That is why all our structures have a red cracked icon.
The only buildings we have left that are not destroyed are our two mana shrines.
Be warned that you can't upgrade a building that has been destroyed until you rebuild it. Also you can't upgrade a building to a higher level than our stronghold. Our destroyed stronghold is currently level 1. This means no upgrading other buildings before we repair our stronghold which costs 5,000 florens and then upgrading it for another 10,000.
Again this means donating florens to upgrade structures can have no effect until they are rebuilt, and the stronghold upgraded first!
This means please donate your florens to repairs, and not upgrades, since we can't upgrade anything until we repair our stronghold.
I am not sure exactly how to repair a building. Does it just repair itself once enough florens have been donated? If you know the answer to this let me know in the chat.
Again big part of the repair process is donating florens. These are a new type of coins you win in siege battles. Right now we are in the prep phase and the battle has yet to begin.
If you click on a building there is a button over on the left that says "update".
If you click on that button there are two ways to donate. The one at the bottom says "repair". Then you can donate florens. It costs 5,000 florens to repair the stronghold. The magic towers are 1,500 and defence towers are 1,000 florens. Mana shrines cost 2000 to repair if they get destroyed.
Again please don't donate to updates because we can't use them right now. Please do donate florens to repairing buildings in our clan fortress.
Up at the top of each structure are two flags. These are controlled by clicking on the building and then clicking on "upgrade". From there you can click "order repair" and order defend. I am not sure exactly what these do but they might be a way for deputies to communicate plans with the rest of the clan.
From the bastion if you click on battles you will see a list of different types of battles. You will see campaign, dungeon and so on. Siege is the battle on the far right hand side of this list. Click on Siege, a map of our clan fortress comes up.
Click on a post or structure you want to occupy and a new window will appear, then click on the square up at the top of this new window and it will give you a space where you can add four champions. Then hit set.
Again in the 12 day long prep phase you can move around. If you move a team of a building or post your scroll gets refunded and you can use it someplace else.
There is another whole section about siege that contains basic information on the topic. This new section contains the latest thinking as we go into battle. If you have time consider a review of siege, by reading the section on Siege basics
The sad thing is that the more you win in raid the higher you go in rank and the harder your next battle is.
I suggest that we might want to think about throwing a few siege battles so that we face weaker opponents with poor communication skills.
This would mean cutting back on how many "victory points" we score in a siege battle.
That way we can avoid so much damage to our clan fortress each battle. Something to think about.
There are only three ways into the clan fortress. Post 2, Post 3 and Post 5.
In our clan we call the right side of the map the "east side." So Post 5 can be called "the east gate." Post 2 can be called " the west gate" and Post 3 can be called "the docks."
I am currently defending Posts 3 and 5. The docks and the east gate. Post 2 the west gate is undefended last time I checked.
I hope a really strong player decides to move onto the post 2 west gate position! If the defender of Post 2, the west gate has a small personal cash of mana orbs they can use them to "set conditions" on their post to make it even harder to take.
In theory if the enemy can't take one of these posts they can't destroy any buildings. But this should only be our first line of defence.
We currently have only two buildings left in our clan fortress that have not been destroyed. These are our two mana shrines. They have survived this most recent battle.
If one gets destroyed it costs 2,000 florens to repair it. That means we face 4,000 florens in possible damage in this next siege battle.
Again, I suggest that we can defend these last 2 sheine buildings in the upcoming battle at all costs.
As mentioned before, our stronghol has been destroyed. It will cost alot to repair it.
Those of you who feel your place is in the stronghold by all means set up your team there. But in a way our stronghold is more of a diversion distracting the enemy from our mana shrines.
So weaker teams setting up here will be especially useful if they set up in the first positions because they will force the enemy to use up his attack scrolls, before they get to our well defended mana shrines and their approaches.
If we successfully defend our stronghold we get some mana orbs that we can use to set conditions in our posts.
There are 5 bridges over the river. These look like really great posts to defend especially if we could defend all 5 of them. It would take all your siege DEF Scrolls to defend a bridge. One for each end.
As you look over the map, look at all the magic and defence towers and think about where you belong. Then move in there. Use chat to discuss with the rest of the clan.
